Well it's been almost two years since the last update. And now that there's a new Halloween film out and it has no sign of Busta Rhymes in it, I figured I'd take this chance to update the site.
I Still haven't seen the new film. At this point you can label me "not a real fan" if you wish. But I've been waiting for the right time. When that time comes, rest assured you will have my thoughts.

You have most likely heard that Moustapha Akkad, the founder/head of Trancas International Films and the man whose name graced the main titles of every Halloween film, was one of the victims of the November 9 terrorist attacks in Jordan, along with his daughter Rima. This is indeed a sad time for the Halloween community as well as for the film industry and of course the world in general.
To offer condolences, go here.

Due to some new inspiration, you will find that I actually finished the sections that have been "in progress" for three years, and I even added several new pages, including a new Links page which is pretty bare right now. I've also re-written the "Site History" page (to take out a lot of its self-indulgent nature), as well as adding a sound link and an image to the old Daniel Farrands interview.
Of course I wouldn't know if anyone still visits, and I'm finding that there are far superior HALLOWEEN sites on the net now. But I'd still like to try to make this the home for thoughtful discussion of the first six films and the failure of recent installments.

So, Halloween is rolling around again and once again I've been possessed to update the page. Not anything major as far as design or content yet, but I just figured I'd post some sort of update to communicate with those who might stop by. I understand now why I get many less viewers than the old days ('96-'98). It might be because I only update every one to two years...
Not sure what channels are showing the films this year, as I no longer get cable. (That's right, I'm trying to get back to the roots of man.) I do know a WB affiliate here (and perhaps the whole network?) is showing "H20" but as many of you know I hate that film so I don't care.
Interestingly I hear there is a "sequel" to "Halloween 3: Season of the Witch" in the works. You've probably heard this as well. Go to KlayonFilms.net (then go to the forums section and look for "SOTW") for more info if not.
By the way, I think I might have invented blogs. I was posting thoughts under a date almost 10 years ago. Not that new of an idea.
I might add a poll to the main page. If you read this and are excited to see the site update again, please drop me a line using the address on the main page. Especially if you are an old Halloween site operator. But also if you just like the site. Please?
P.S. -- It seems that the "official" Halloween site is now conducting an interview with Daniel Farrands. Curious, considering that the guys who started the site (who are now not involved in it) had the FIRST interview with Daniel Farrands. And also curious because I really can't think of anything new Farrands could say about Halloween 6 that he didn't already say in my interview. The only interesting thing about that will be his updates on what he's doing now.

I've put up a new summary of all the basic information about the HALLOWEEN films. I had one on the site some years ago and took it off because I thought it was unnecessary, but I now realize it's always nice to have. Also if you're reading this and you write fan fiction start writing some and start sending it to me so I can open up that section. I have more plans for the future. Oh, also, in case you didn't notice, I'm working on the alternate versions page right now. When I'm done I'll have a lot of pictures from the HALLOWEEN 6 Producer's Cut there. Basically I'm doing this 'cause I can't get to sleep. Well talk to you later...

Well, here it is, over seven years since I first put this site up, and I'm still tacking updates onto it. God, I must be a loser. Well in case there's someone reading this who still cares, I decided to move all the new pages back to GeoCities because I couldn't stand my content being intruded upon by Tripod's on-page banner ads. (I'm in the midst of taking all their Java code out of the HTML files so I can upload them here.) Luckily, GeoCities doesn't have banners just yet (or anymore, I should say), only pop-ups. I hope they don't get any ideas.
But anyway I've added a little page to outlay the new philosophy behind the site. Go read it. I know some of you might close this window when you read this, but don't expect to see any updates about the "latest Halloween sequel" here. Instead, we're focusing on the good days. Damn, I'm giving away some of the philosophy page already. Well anyway (again), stay tuned for the next update, which will most likely be sooner than the 15-month gap between this one and the last one, which I still have below as if it was a few days ago. Well take care all...
October 21, 2002
I actually updated the History of Halloween section that used to be on the old site and I uploaded it here. There is also a new page about the rare HALLOWEEN novelizations, as well as a "Thoughts" section with me ranting on the stupidity of HALLOWEEN 5. And the Message Boards are gone because no one used them. I bet no one is reading this page. So I am just typing it to myself. Or not even that because I'm not going to read it. So I'm just wasting time. I should be sleeping.
Well, in case anyone is reading this, mark October 26 on your calendar because "the new AMC" will be showing Halloweens II, III, IV, and V, all in a row. Definitely a glorious, if strange, day. I'm looking forward to seeing III again and looking at it in a different light now that the other sequels (5, 6, 7, and 8) are so horrible.
Another thought... some time I will try to find all the update archives dating back from September of 1996 and put them up here so you can see a chronicle of how the page and the HALLOWEEN movie series has evolved from '96 to 2002. One major change is that in 1997 I put a lot of time into this site, but I couldn't make it compare to the bigger sites because of my constant lack of resources. Now it is just a fun kitschy thing I do just to keep the legacy of this site alive. I think I may be the only site (besides the "Official" corporate page) from the '96-'97 era that is still, at least technically, in operation. Well, until next time... and if I don't talk to you, have a safe and happy Halloween.

Despite the personal letter that appeared on the homepage last weekend, I intend to finish off this site by making each link in the menu lead to a working page. I am then going to build on the pages to make them what they should be. This website will become one that primarily focuses on the John Carpenter aspect of the Halloween films. You will find some information on the Coupe de Villes, John Carpenter's "band", in the Carpenter section of the site.
In addition, I intend to redesign all the original pages to give them a final resting place here. I am also going to add some new pictures and other sections in the near future. So check back because this site still has some life left in it.
