The

Coupe de Villes

The Coupe de Villes were/are a "band" made up of John Carpenter on vocals and guitar, Nick Castle on keyboards and vocals, and Tommy Lee Wallace on guitar.

The Coupes were featured on the soundtrack for Carpenter's film "Big Trouble in Little China", performing a theme song written by Carpenter. They even made a hilarious music video for the song featured on the DVD Collector's Edition of "Big Trouble...", which is worth its price if only for this video.

Shortly after the "Big Trouble..." video, Carpenter, Castle, and Wallace cut an album entitled "Waiting out the Eighties". However, this album was never officially released on a national scale.

Apparently, Wallace, Castle, and Carpenter are also present as the Coupe de Villes in Castle's 1987 film The Boy Who Could Fly. I saw this movie around the time it was relatively new, when I was a member of the target audience of such family fare. As this is the case I don't remember it well, but I might check it out again some time soon to see if I can spot the Coupes. And I guess you can too.
