Information on Lost Scenes and Different Versions of the HALLOWEEN Films

Many of you are probably aware of the famed alternate versions that exist for HALLOWEEN I, II, and 6. There might be alternate versions of the third entry, but no one seems to care so there has been no such information conveyed.

The first alternate version to speak of is the television version of HALLOWEEN that was created in 1981 during the filming of HALLOWEEN II. In 1997 I posted a complete transcript of this version that was promptly ripped off by every site on the internet. I also posted some images which I have made available once again, mainly for nostalgia's sake, because since those days, DVDs have become widespread and there is an "Extended Edition" of HALLOWEEN available in nearly every electronics store which reinstates all the scenes from the television version in widescreen format. As you most likely already know, these scenes include Dr. Loomis pleading before a council of doctors at Smith's Grove Sanitarium in 1964 as well as the same doctor examining Michael's room at the sanitarium after he escapes in 1978. It also contains an extra scene involving Jamie Lee Curtis and P.J. Soles in which Laurie (Curtis) asks to borrow Lynda's dress. Below are some snapshots:

I'm sure many of you have seen those scenes already. More rare, however, are the lost scenes from the TV version of HALLOWEEN II. No network used to show this version until AMC revamped their format and has now made a tradition of showing parts II, III, IV, and V on Halloween. And wouldn't ya know it, they show the long-lost TV version of HALLOWEEN II! I'm not sure if I ever taped it, and they have not made it available on DVD or VHS like the first installment's TV version, but just know that whenever AMC shows HALLOWEEN II, you can see these extra scenes. They include some various different cuts of the mother and her child with the bleeding mouth in the hospital, as well as an addition to the ending that shows us Jimmy (Lance Guest) is not dead, but is in fact in the ambulance with Laurie as it drives away.

Of course, in 1995, there was a finished cut of HALLOWEEN 6 which was later changed and mangled into what was released at theaters. This "Producer's Cut" is almost an entirely different movie with a completely different plot than the "Theatrical Cut". Each version has completely different scenes. I'm sure you're aware of what they are, so I won't get into great detail. If you are unaware, go to IMDb.com and look up "Halloween 6", then go to Alternate Version Info. In any case, below are video snapshots from the old bootleg tape of the Producer's Cut that I got in 1996 (and which I saw before I ever saw the theatrical cut, oddly enough).
